Speech Arts and Student Led

Just when I thought Spring was just around the corner, we get a blast of cold weather again! I was all ready to pack up the heavy sweaters and bulky jackets and take out the spring clothes! Please ensure that your child come to school with a jacket since we are outside for recess.

Today, your child is bringing home an invitation for the Student Led Conference with your date and time. Each child has a half hour time slot to show their work to you. It is a special time for your child to share their accomplishments and maybe to show you what they have had some difficulties with. While I will be in the classroom at this time, it is not the proper time to discuss their progress with me. If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to discuss, we can set aside another meeting time. If you cannot come at your appointed time, please let me know as soon as possible.

Speech Arts is just around the corner! On Thursday, Feb 28, the students will present their poems to the class. Three of them will be chosen to move on to the School Wide Speech Arts in March. You are welcome to come at 2pm in the classroom to watch. We will do bible readings at a different time.

***NO SCHOOL ON MARCH 1 DUE TO THE STUDENT LED CONFERENCES***

Blame it on Pinterest! I have been inspired to create some new arts and crafts with the students using different mediums. If you have the following items in your home and would like it "recycled" into beautiful art work :) please feel free to send them to school:

-jars and bottles

-cd's
-ribbons
-yarn and string
-buttons
-beads
-scrapbook paper
-old frames
-cloth and fabric
-sequins
-old lightbulbs (but not the LED kind)
-clay pots

THANK YOU!
